Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.
I am looking for a Caregiver offer in BC, Canada. I would need a sponsor for the LMIA. If you’re interested, read ahead!
My name is Alina, and I am an open-minded, respectful, and caring 26-year-old girl from Brazil. I was raised in a multi-cultural family and therefore, have spoken English since I was very small. I come from a large family of teachers and educators.
In 2015/2016 I spent a few months in Los Angeles to study Acting right after graduating from high school. After that, I worked with different families in childcare in Brazil (0 to 10 years old) and as a private tutor (7 to 17 years old), before moving to the Netherlands to be an Au Pair for a year. Feel free to ask me for more information about my experience there or my former host family’s contact info. They would be happy to speak with you about their experience with me.
I was there from Dec/16 to Dec/17 and had the most amazing time with my host family. I looked after two boys of then 5 and 2 years old, who I absolutely adore and still keep in touch with. I still feel like I’m part of their family, even now, 6 years later. In 2018, I spent a year in Belgium studying Tourism and then moved back to Brazil in 2019 to pursue a degree in Education and a career as a teacher. I then worked as a Teacher Aide at the American School here, and I currently teach grade 2 at our Canadian International school.
I am very creative and artistic. I love writing, drawing, painting, crafting, and baking. I am also very interested in history, mythology, world cultures, languages, and astronomy. I love reading and try to save some time for that at least once a day. Some of my favorite activities also include board games, movies, and sports, especially soccer. I used to go camping quite often as a kid and still love to do it, as well as traveling and hiking. I am outgoing but also love to be at home. I believe childcare and education should be caring, respectful, understanding, patient, loving, and empathetic. I believe in positive discipline, rather than the traditional strict values.
I have a driver’s license, and a valid passport and have attended child and infant first aid and CPR courses. If necessary, I would be willing to redo the course in Canada. I speak fluent English and Portuguese and have an intermediate knowledge of Dutch and Spanish. I am not opposed to caring for pets, tutoring, or caring for children with special needs or disabilities (I also have experience with some disabilities).
I am only looking for Live Out opportunities, due to the fact that I have dogs and a cat that mean the world to me and who would be coming along. I hope to find the right family who understands my love for my pets and who would be happy to host a Live Out caregiver. That would in no way change the way I perform my job and duties, though, as I am very responsible and goal-oriented.
I am hoping to work with a trustworthy, respectful, open-minded, carefree, and flexible family, with whom I can be able to talk about anything. I really hope to be a part of the family, but to also have my privacy and time alone when I need it. Communication, love, and understanding are the key to everything in my opinion, and that’s how I approach childcare. I believe children need someone who listens to them, notices their needs, and talks them through their issues, rather than someone who will only be unnecessarily strict and firm.
I would need an LMIA and a work permit to work in Canada. Let me know if you’re interested and/or would like to talk or learn more about what the LMIA is and I will be happy to arrange that and/or a video chat.
Feel free to send me a message if you’re interested in talking about sponsoring me to be your next Caregiver and if you have any questions for me! I’d love to hear from you and your family!
I hope to meet you soon!
Alina
